Filters is a speculative project designed in 2018 during my architecture undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo.

The project is composed of a number of small wood frame buildings built into a larger landscape of heavy linear masonry walls. The walls act as structural instruments to create a filtered experience of an otherwise revealing site. They serve to guide while bemusing visitors through a rigid, curated landscape.

Smaller wood frame buildings situated between the heavy walls allow for efficient building
envelopes. Glazed openings are kept to a minimum, as light is controlled very carefully
through out the site until you reach the pools, where the skyline opens up.
